An Art Group „Uważaj” (Pay Attention)

The group „UWAZAJ” was formed in 2002 with the goal to address some problems with which young people around us struggle.

The aim of our project is to activate youth in evangelism and to develop their artistic skills. Everything we do is a visualization of our message. As the new generation of politically aware citizens, we do not approve of the problems being covered up by drugs, alcoholism and prostitution. People of every country, culture and social status look for fulfillment in their lives, but often they go about it the wrong way. They look for shortcuts; they want the easy way out, but the consequences are catastrophic. We want them to find passion and meaning in life. With our attitude and example, we want to show them that what we do is not merely art or empty slogans. We show that our life follows what we say, and what we show is proven in our daily life. We show the way to a happy and healthy life in today’s time, without alcohol, drugs, violence and rebellion.

Our mission is to share this passion with those who lack it. We want to shout out loud that in every culture and country there is an alternative for hopelessness – Jesus Christ. We want to help those who have lost their hope or have never had any hope. Children and youth from socially rejected situations, broken homes, and pathological families do not have hope, and their vision of the future is not colorful. We want to reach out to those rejected by others. We do not have to have much or be millionaires to give something to others. Sometimes it is enough to give a little time.

These are perfect forms of communication understood by people of every age, sex, nationality and language. We are a group of young people who want to change life for the better. We want to help people; we want to be those who not only build their own future, but also influence their generation. We love different forms of art, so we wanted to merge them.

We present pieces of art that make people think. We touch such issues like rejection, loneliness and fear. We speak on the basis of our own experience and say how we are able to overcome obstacles. In our opinion, it is better to prevent than heal wounds, so in our pieces of art we show the dangers the enemy offers in life - such as addiction.

We are all engaged in our meetings. Some of us are better in dancing, others in pantomime, so we teach each other. We work on our program together, but we share responsibilities. We use a variety of artistic means and everybody tries to specialize in his/her favorite form. Some of us love to create new things, others prefer to perfect things that exist. Some like to do the make-up, others props and scenery, and some take care of equipment. Everybody participates for his/her own fulfillment and for the common purpose of reaching the goal.

We visit churches, orphanages, homeless centers and hospitals. Through our presentations we want to encourage conscious decisions. In the future we want to make new projects, record our performances on DVD and make multi media shows. We want to cooperate with Culture Centers, theater and television. We want to create, work and see the good results of our actions. We plan and organize trips abroad every year.
