Worship dance

Our Triune God created us in His likeness as spirit, soul, and flesh. Each one of those parts is perfect and beautiful. Unfortunately, many Christians reject the soul and flesh as evil and secular and in this way limit themselves in creative communication with God. Meanwhile, the Bible tells us something completely different:

"...do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." (1 Cor 6, 19-20)

God, the greatest artist in the world, created us in a perfect way, giving us unlimited possibilities of action. Our communication with God and service to others doesn’t have to be limited only to words and voice. Our relationship with God doesn’t have to be limited only to our spiritual realm. God created us as spirit, soul and flesh. Therefore let us use the talents and skills He gave us to demonstrate that He is a great King, worthy. We can sing, dance or paint for Him. Let each worship Him as best as you can!

The “Grupa Tańca Uwielbieniowego” was created in 2002 by Lelen Skelenger. Its main purpose was and still is not only a creative worship of Jesus with the worship team co-operation, but also evangelization through dance. Relating God’s truths and fragments from the Holy Scripture with the use of dance and motion.

In our actions we use different dance techniques:

Besides our body we use flags, scarves, and materials in dance. Through these we can express ourselves not only with motion but also through the forms of texture and colour. In this way our dance becomes more spectacular and literal.

All that we do, we do to glorify God Jesus Christ. He created the whole palette of colours for our use and joy. Each colour brings a meaning and a curtain emotion that we can use in our dance:
red - blood of Christ, fight - Exodus 24:8, Mark 14:24, Luck 22:20
silver - redemption, purification, new strength, through - Numbers 18:15-16, Genesis 20:16, Psalms 12:7
gold - God’s glory and God’s presence, royalty - Ezekiel 1:4, Revelation 1:13-14
violet - majesty, power, commandment remembrance - Ester 8:15, Numbers 15:38-39, John 19:2
white - purity, holiness, truth, freedom - Revelation 3:4, Psalms 1:13-14
blue - Holy Spirit, grace, mercy - Exodus 24:10, Ezekiel 47:9
green - tree of life, hope, new things, healing - Jeremiah 17:7-8, Isaiah 66:14, Psalms 80:15-16, Psalms 52:10
black - sin, deaf, God’s judgment - Psalms 13:4, Ephesians 5:11
